Reiki,
pronounced ‘ray-key’, is a Japanese word. ‘Rei’
means Universal, Divine, God-force or ever present. The ‘Ki’
is the life force we all have within us. People who have a high
level of Ki exude a warm, loving and happy energy that attracts
other people to them. No matter what their situation they remain
optimistic and positive.
“People
with low Ki are often negative, sad or depressed. The stresses of
these negative emotions can impact on a person’s mental and
spiritual health and, if left unchecked, can lead to physical illness.
Yet, if the life force energy is high, there is a greater resistance
to illness and a strengthening of the immune system to ward off
disease.
A Reiki
practitioner channels Divine energy from above by using a hands-on-healing
technique that works on balancing and re-energising the natural
energy flow inside the body. This increases the body’s natural
ability to heal itself.
A
vast number of illnesses can be healed because they occur on an
unconscious level and the energies channelled by Reiki go exactly
where they are needed. When the practitioner’s loving and
compassionate intention to heal is coupled with the willingness
of the client to bring harmony and balance into their life, true
healing can begin.
